HAMILTON COUNTY SPEEDWAY TRACK  RULES

 

 

 

1. Specific car rules will be strictly enforced. Our track technical

inspectors are Rand Swenson and Al Oskvig. Rand and Al are available to

answer any specific questions that may arise.

 

2. All general rules, general regulations, protest rules, safety procedures,

race procedures and line‑up procedures will apply to ALL DRIVERS AND THEIR

PIT CREWS. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THESE RULES.

 

3. All drivers, pit members and all other persons must sign a waiver form

before being allowed in pit area. Anyone under 18 years of age must have a

signed and notarized consent form from his parents or guardian, which must

be in addition to the signed waiver

 

Pit pass must be in plain sight at all times. Everyone in the pit area is

required to have a wristband. Signing the waiver form will be considered

evidence that the entrant had read and understands the contest rules,

program and pay‑off, and agrees to compete accordingly. No person will be

allowed to sign any forms for another person.

 

4. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE CONSUMED BY DRIVERS OR THEIR PIT CREWS PRIOR TO, OR DURING ANY RACING EVENT! NO ONE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE RACEWAY.

 

IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE, YOU MUST CALL THE TRACK TO TELL US YOU ARE RUNNING LATE OR YOU WILL BE PLACED AT THE BACK OF THE HEAT.

 

5. Track officials will not work on race cars, they will only advise drivers

to go to the work area or pits.

 

6. If you exit the track during a race to go to the pits you will not be

allowed back on the track during that race.

 

7. Pit crews, or anyone from the pit area, will not be allowed on the track

at anytime. If anyone attempts to come onto the track ‑ that car will be

disqualified.

 

PIT CREWS OUT OF DESIGNATED WORK AREA WILL CAUSE THEIR CAR TO BE

DISQUALIFIED!

 

8. Any car caught in Tech that is illegal will be disqualified for that

night. NO EXCEPTIONS!


 

DISQUALIFIED MEANS NO MONEY AND NO POINTS FOR THAT NIGHT.

 

9. DRIVERS WILL BE THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THEIR CREW AND/OR FAMILY. The drivers shall be the sole spokesman for the crew and

owner in any and all matters pertaining to the program and only the driver

shall take part in any arbitration with officials in charge.

 

10. We expect you in the line‑up area before the white flag drops for the

previous race. If you miss your heat you will be at the rear of the "B" or

A" Feature. You must leave the line‑up area under your own power. If you

need a push truck you will start the race at the rear.

 

11. All protests by driver only. All protests shall be in writing and must

be filed with the Track Technical inspectors within 5 minutes after the

feature race is completed. Such protests must be specific in charges and

alleged violations so that determination can be made whether they are

allowable or rejected. No protest of any type will be allowed after prize

money has been paid. Protests, which involve alteration of scores results,

engine teardowns, etc., must be accompanied with a $200. cash protest deposit.

If the protest is not sustained by track officials, the protest deposit will

be forfeited If the protest is allowed the money will be refunded to the

protester The track grievance committee will have the following members:

Promoter, the Technical Inspectors and the Flagman, or their representative

if they are not present for the nights racing program.

 

12. The promoter and track officials reserve the right to update, modify,

add to or delete rules anytime without prior notification.

 

Be at all pit meetings to be aware of any changes.

 

13. No competing at track if pending Litigation case against track or

Promoter.

 

14. We reserve the right to refuse anyone.

 

 

GREEN FLAG RULES

 

1. Starts are 2 abreast. Good, clean, straight out of 4. Both front row cars

have to be buddies for 3 to 4 seconds and come out of corner 4 together. If

we have a bad start, yellow will come out on the back straightaway.

 

 

 

2. CARS MUST REMAIN NOSE TO TAIL UNTIL THE GREEN FLAG IS DROPPED AND THE GREEN LIGHTS COME ON. IF YOU PASS BEFORE THAT TIME IT WILL BE CONSIDERED A JUMP.

 

3. YOU MUST TAKE THE ORIGINAL GREEN FLAG OR YOU HAVE MISSED THE RACE, WHETHER THERE IS A COMPLETED LAP OR NOT. THIS INCLUDES RESTARTS AND WORK AREA.

 

4. Restarts will be single file after one lap is completed.

 

YELLOW FLAG RULES

 

1. Any car involved in 1 yellow flag in the Qualifying Races, ( Heats and B

Features) will be unable to continue that race. With the exception for the

IMCA Late Models.

 

2. Any car involved in 2 yellow flag in the Feature will be unable to

continue that race. All Classes, No exceptions!

 

**Being involved in a yellow flag means being stopped on the track at the  time of the yellow**

 

3. The following circumstances will result in a yellow flag being dropped:

 

A. An accident.

 

B. A spin out, if driver is in immediate danger.

 

C. Dangerous debris on the track or hanging from a car.

 

D. Anytime the flagman determines the track is unsafe.

 

4. If you jump a start, you will be penalized two (2) spots for every car

passed at the next yellow flag, or at the end of that race.

 

5. If race leader takes the checkered flag the race is complete. Any cars

crossing the finish line after the yellow flag is thrown will be scored in

white flag lap.

 

6. If you exit the track to go to the pits during a race under a yellow flag

you will NOT be allowed back on the track during that race.

 

7. If you exit the track to go to the work area during a race under a yellow flag you

WILL be allowed back. The driver will be allowed to go to work area and change tire.

 

All drivers are to stay in their cars UNLESS TOLD OTHERWISE BY A TRACK OFFICIAL.

 

RED FLAG RULES

 

1. ALL CARS MUST IMMEDIATELY STOP! WORK AREA IS NOT OPEN DURING A RED FLAG! IF YOU LEAVE THE TRACK DURING A RED FLAG, YOU ARE DONE!

 

2. All drivers are to stay in their cars UNLESS IN DANGER OR TOLD OTHERWISE

BY A TRACK OFFICIAL.

If you get out without being told to by a track official you will be told to leave the track.

 

3. No pit crewmembers will be allowed on the track during a red flag until a

track official deems it necessary.

 

4. If the race leader takes the checkered flag the race is complete.

 

A. All cars crossing the finish line before the red flag will be scored as

they cross the finish line.

 

B. All other cars will be scored from the last completed lap, with the car

charged with the red flag being scored in the rear.

 

BLACK FLAG RULES

 

1. The following circumstances will result in being black flagged:

 

A. Being lapped twice by the top four cars.

 

B. Flagrant bad driving. NO PAY! NO POINTS!

 

C. Bad sportsmanship by a driver or his pitcrew members. NO PAY! NO POINTS!

 

D. Any uses of the "Buddy System" to block out other drivers. NO PAY! NO POINTS!

 

WORK AREA

 

1. All work on any car performed by pit crewmembers during an "A" Feature

must be done in the work area during a yellow flag.

 

2. Cooling of overheated engines will be done only in the work area, and or

your pit area.

 

3. You will be allowed to change tires or correct safety problems in the

work area during an "A" Feature only during a yellow flag. You will be

allowed to re‑enter the track at the discretion of a track official and will

be lined up at the rear.

 

4. Fuel can only be added during a mandatory fuel stop for all drivers. No driver will lose his position.

 

5. No crewmember will be allowed to cross track until race is over. NO PAY

AND NO POINTS TO DRIVER IF CREWMEMBERS DO NOT WAIT!

 

6. If you have a flat tire and stop on the track to bring out a yellow, you

will be disqualified for that race.
