Jason Toppenberg finds victory lane for the first time of the season at The Hamilton County Speedway.

By: Ryan Bergeson

Matthews Plumbing was the host for the nights racing action on a very special night number 13. With the 2007 Hamilton County Fair just around the corner, the racing is heating up at The Hamilton County Speedway.
The night was started off with the Performance Electric Hobby Stocks. Brandon Lafrenz and Casey Thul would go wheel to wheel right from the start looking to take the lead. Lafrenz was able to snatch the top spot around the speedway until Mark Haglund powered his machine to the front. Haglund would take the lead on lap three and would not look back. Haglund would go on to pick up the feature win followed by Kevin Schmauss, Perne Struchen, and Brandon Toftee.

The Conleys Trucking Limited Modifieds were up next on the raceway. Todd Vesterby would race for the lead early in the event trying to hold off Brett Moffitt. Finally, Moffitt would make his bid for the lead and was able to capture the spot on the back shute. Moffitt would continue to pace the field as Levi Nielson and Matt Lettow worked their way through traffic. Lettow was able to work his way to second in the late stages of the 12 lap feature event but would not have time to run down the race leader. Moffitt would go on to win followed by Lettow, Nielson, and Brandon Leeman.
The Neighbors Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Stock Cars were up next for their 15 lap shootout around The Historic Half Mile. Reid Keller and Jeremy Ades would steal the show as the two raced side by side for the first several laps. Keller would eventually take the lead and power his right rear against the cushion. Ades would be on Kellers back bumper as they raced each other all over the speedway. Keller would find himself hopping the cushion in turn four handing the lead over to Ades. Keller was able to gather his machine and trail Ades all over the speedway but could not find the right combination to run down Ades. Jeremy Ades would go on to pick up the feature win. Keller, Bob Sutherland, and Jason Minnehan would round out the top four.

The Ferguson Motorsports/MyMedMart Modifieds were up next on the race track. Jason Toppenberg would steal the show early on as Jon Snyder raced to the bottom of him through the turns. Snyder would take the lead eventually on the bottom of the racing surface but Toppenberg would hammer his right rear against the moisture on the top of the track and would take the lead back. Toppenberk would not be challenged again as he made his first trip to victory lane of the 2007 racing season. Scott Olson, Nate Caruth, and Dave Doughty would round out the top four.
The final race of the night would be the Motor Inn of Webster City IMCA Late Models. Riley Larson would take the lead early as he was followed by Adam Larson. Adam Larson would work his machine to the top side of the race track and Riley Larson would catfish his hot rod to the bottom of the raceway. Finally, Adam Larson would make a bid for the lead and put Riley Larson back to second. Later in the race, Todd Cooney would come to second but could not run down Adam Larson. Adam Larson would win his second feature of the season at The Hamilton County Speedway followed by Darrel DeFrance, Todd Cooney, and Riley Larson.

Another night of racing has been completed at The Hamilton County Speedway. Special thanks to Matthews Plumbing for being the title sponsor on night number 13.
