The anticipation becomes reality with opening night at The Hamilton County Speedway.

The 2007 racing season is underway at The Hamilton County Speedway. Excitement filled the air as several race teams packed themselves into the pit area. Night #1 at the Hamilton County Speedway offered a lot of entertainment and family fun.

The Performance Electric Hobby Stocks kicked started the first feature event of the 2007 racing season. Jamie Odor would waste no time powering his machine to the front of the field. Kevin Schmauss was able to work his way to the second position on the racetrack and would have his eyes on the prize. A late race restart bunched the field but Odor would once again grab the advantage and pick up the feature victory of 2007 at The Historic Half-Mile. Odor was followed by Kevin Schmauss, Justin Ades, and Matt Mundt.

The Neighbors Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Stock Cars were next on the speedway. Curt Hook, the defending Hobby Stock Track Champion and Rookie of the Year candidate in the Stock Car division did his best to pick up where he left off a year ago. Hook was able to take the top spot at the start of the race as Jared Dirks would try to take it away. Dirks, Wagoner and Hook would all battle it out for the top prize throughout the race. Finally, Dirks would make the move for the front, but Hook would slam the door and motor to the feature victory. Curt Hook would pick up his first career Stock Car Feature win followed by Jared Dirks, Adam Silvey, and Todd Foster.

The Conleys Trucking Limited Modifieds would make their way to the big half mile and Matt Lettow would show that he hasn’t forgotten how to wheel the Cenex Skyrocket around the speedway. Matt Lettow would lead the race throughout as Bugs Vincent and Brett Moffitt would try to reel him in. Lettow would show that he was the class of the field and powered to the feature win. Bugs Vincent, George Gilliland, and Matt Northrop would round out the top four.

Modifieds were next on the speedway for their 20-lap feature event. Randy Havlik would power his way to the front of the field at the start as he tried to hold off the charging Terminator Mark Elliott. Elliott would power his right rear high on the cushion through turns one and two and take the top spot away. Jason Toppenberg, Scott Olson, and Ryan Giles would all make their way to the front and battle for the second position and Mark Elliott would cruise his number 12 to victory lane. Mark Elliott would pick up the feature win followed by Ryan Giles, Jason Toppenberg, and Scott Olson.

The sport compacts were first to do battle as Jena Barthelmes and Chad Lee would battle for the top spot on the speedway. Lee would have the advantage at the start but not for long as Jena stood on the gas and took the lead. Jena Barthelmes would have the crowd going wild as she passed the checkered flag picking up the first ever feature win for the IMCA Sport Compacts.

The IMCA Sport compacts had a successful debut at The Hamilton County Speedway and the fans and drivers showed a lot of interest in the entry level division.
